Peee uuu www! I had to bathe Sam today because he stunk! I was outside yakking with the neighbor lady yesterday while she was washing out her garbage can. I don’t know what she had in the bottom of that thing but it smelled a lot like pig pen poop. It was SO gross!
Well, I wasn’t paying enough attention to Sam and while I was yakking, he decided to roll in the neighbor’s trash can crap. UGH! I took Sam into our back yard and thoroughly hosed him off then brought him in the house and sprayed him liberally with dog perfume. Should have given him a bath then I guess, but I was too lazy so I had to do it today. Why do dogs like to roll in stinky stuff so much?
A long time ago in a marriage far away me and a former missus had a little dog named Daisy and she was almost as cute as Sam, but she liked the stinky stuff even more than he does. She got out of the house one night and when she came home the next day she was covered in dried cow manure from the dairy down the hill. I probably nearly killed her trying to get that stuff all off. I’ve never had a dog get sprayed by a skunk, but I’m hard pressed to believe it could be worse than that manure smell or what Sam got into yesterday.
There’s a cute comic strip called Pooch CafĂ© and in today’s strip one of the pooches catches another one voluntarily taking a bath and is so horrified by the experience, he’s going to tell all the other pooches.
Okay. That’s all I have to say about dog smells, now what? I still have a couple hundred words to go to complete this blog. Reminds me of when my high school English teacher said we had to write a five-hundred word essay and I ran out of words before the end.
How ‘bout if I segue to something in the news? Can’t segue to the Seattle Mariners because they’re finally playing at least .500 ball. I suppose I could segue to the news article in The Olympian headlined “Pot growers shake off federal water denial,” which says, “The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation said Tuesday it won’t allow any federally controlled water to be used for marijuana crops because Congress has banned the drug.”
I wonder why the headline didn’t read, “Pot growers’ pipe dream for irrigation water goes up in smoke?” Marijuana smoke is pretty stinky. In fact, it makes me sneeze something fierce every time I smell it.
I suppose I could segue to an article in the Op-Ed page headlined, “We should do more to shield children harvesting tobacco.” Apparently, the kiddies are coming down with green tobacco sickness from acute nicotine poisoning while trying to earn a buck for new school clothes and their Saturday night dates and what not. I remember getting sick from picking plums onetime although that was from eating too many of them. Boy! The skitters I had that night sure smelled bad!
Wasn’t this a fun blog to read? To think I didn’t know what to write about when I started. I’m finished now Miss Shulsen.
